Steps to get ICAT certificate for erickshaw

Here are the steps to get ICAT approval for an electric rickshaw in India:

  1. Register your company with ICAT. You will need to create an account on the ICAT website and provide your company's registration details.

  2. Submit an application for Type Approval Certificate (TAC). The TAC application form can be downloaded from the ICAT website. You will need to provide technical specifications of your electric rickshaw, as well as drawings and photographs.

  3. Send your electric rickshaw to ICAT for testing. ICAT will conduct a series of tests on your electric rickshaw to ensure that it meets the safety and emission standards.

  4. Receive your TAC. Once your electric rickshaw has passed all of the tests, ICAT will issue you a TAC. The TAC is valid for three years.

  5. Apply for Conformity of Production (COP) Certificate. The COP Certificate is required to manufacture and sell electric rickshaws in India. You can apply for a COP Certificate online through the ICAT website.

  6. Receive your COP Certificate. Once ICAT has verified that your production process complies with the TAC requirements, they will issue you a COP Certificate. The COP Certificate is valid for one year.

Step 1: Register your company with ICAT

To register your company with ICAT, you will need to create an account on the ICAT website and provide the following information:

  • Company name

  • Registered address

  • Contact details

  • PAN number

  • GSTIN number

Once you have submitted your registration details, you will be granted a username and password. You will use these credentials to log in to the ICAT website and access your company's account.

Step 2: Submit an application for Type Approval Certificate (TAC)

The TAC application form can be downloaded from the ICAT website. The form requires you to provide the following information:

  • Vehicle type

  • Technical specifications of the electric rickshaw

  • Drawings and photographs of the electric rickshaw

  • Test reports from accredited laboratories

Once you have completed the TAC application form, you will need to submit it to ICAT along with the required supporting documents.

Step 3: Send your electric rickshaw to ICAT for testing

ICAT will conduct a series of tests on your electric rickshaw to ensure that it meets the safety and emission standards. The tests will include:

  • Brake performance test

  • Electrical safety test

  • Noise test

  • Emission test

You will need to arrange for transportation of your electric rickshaw to ICAT's testing facility. ICAT will charge a testing fee for each test.

Step 4: Receive your TAC

Once your electric rickshaw has passed all of the tests, ICAT will issue you a TAC. The TAC is valid for three years.

Step 5: Apply for Conformity of Production (COP) Certificate

The COP Certificate is required to manufacture and sell electric rickshaws in India. You can apply for a COP Certificate online through the ICAT website. To apply for a COP Certificate, you will need to provide the following information:

  • TAC number

  • Manufacturing process details

  • Quality control procedures

Step 6: Receive your COP Certificate

Once ICAT has verified that your production process complies with the TAC requirements, they will issue you a COP Certificate. The COP Certificate is valid for one year.
